About the Event
What is forgiveness?
“One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, to forgive. Forgive everybody.”
- Maya Angelou
It is the act of letting go of resentment and moving forward. But when somebody does you wrong, does a loved one wrong, betrays, hurts, or is disloyal, forgiveness is a bitterpill to swallow.
Do you need to forgive someone in order to move on? Does somebody need to forgive you? Research shows that un-forgiveness can lead to heart health challenges, depression, anxiety, and the loss of joy. Forgiveness can lead to experiencing healthier future relationships, understand, empathy, less anxiety, stress, hostility, and even improved self-esteem.
“All major religious traditions carry basically the same message that is love, compassion and forgiveness … should be part of our daily lives”. - The Dalai Lama
On Sunday, December 13, 3:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. ET, IAWH invites you to another “Writing for Emotional Wellness” therapeutic, prompted writing and expression session focusing on the act and the process of forgiveness, which can lead to improved emotional health.
